TRADE MISSION TO CHINA ORGANIZED BY THE GREATER TORONTO AREA CHINESE BUSINESS ASSOCIATION - PRESENTATION
Mayor J. Lehman provided a presentation regarding the Trade Mission to China organized by the Greater Toronto Area Chinese Business Association. He reviewed the rationale associated with municipal Foreign Direct Investment Programs and described the value of trade missions. He explained why Barrie participated with the trade mission and highlighted the mission objectives. Mayor Lehman listed the participants in the trade mission, including Mayors and Deputy Mayors from other municipalities as well as business owners and associated delegates. He described the events that were attended in Shanghai, Xuzhou, Beijing, Taizhou, Chengdu and Hong Kong. Mayor Lehman concluded the presentation by summarizing the results to date from the visit and by detailing the next steps related to the trade mission.
Members of City Council asked a number of questions concerning the information provided and received responses.
