DISCUSSION OF THE PROCEDURE TO ADD HOMES TO THE MUNICIPAL HERITAGE REGISTER PRIOR TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A NEW PROCESS
T. Wierzba, Planner reviewed the previous process followed by the Heritage Barrie Committee to add properties to the Municipal Heritage Register. Mr. Wierzba explained that, in the past, the property owner usually forwarded an email request to have his/her property added to the Heritage Register. Mr. Wierzba noted that the property owner was then invited to attend a future meeting of the Heritage Barrie Committee to share photographs of the heritage property and answer questions by the Committee.
The Committee discussed potential changes to the existing procedure to add properties to the Heritage Register. T. Wierzba commented that a number of years ago property owners interested in having their properties added to the Heritage Register completed an application form to start the process.
