READING OF THE REPRIMAND
The City Clerk pursuant to resolution 21-A-029, read the following reprimand on behalf of the Members of Council:
1. That the Council of The Corporation of the City of Barrie is committed to respect for and adherence to the policies and by-laws of the City, including the Council and Committee Member Code of Conduct which requires that individual Members of Council and Committees treat the public, staff, and other Members of Council with dignity, understanding and respect.
2. That in respect of the Code of Conduct complaint investigation report of the Integrity Commissioner dated March 15, 2021, this Council strongly condemns the statements of Councillor, Sergio Morales at the meeting of August 10, 2020 and makes the following official statement:
a) That following an investigation of the Integrity Commissioner of the City of Barrie, the Member was found to have spoken against another Member of Council that is inappropriate, offensive, insulting, or derogatory; and
b) That the investigation of the integrity Commissioner found that the Member contravened the Council and Committee Member Code of Conduct.
3. That this formal reprimand is being imposed on the Member for having made the communications pursuant to s. 223.4(5) of the Municipal Act and s. 5.3(a) of the City of Barrie, Council and Committee Member Code of Conduct.
