Title: PREVENTION OF SENIORS ABUSE AND AGEISM - HEALTH Pauline Luening and Laura Proctor from Prevention of Seniors Abuse Network - Simcoe County provided a presentation giving a closer look at elder abuse and prevention. Ms. Luening and Ms. Proctor discussed slides concerning the following topics: * The background and history of the organization; * The organization's vision and mission statements; * The services provided by the organization; * An overview on the recent accomplishments funded by the 2019 Seniors Community Grant; * The next steps and future projects for the organization; * The definition of elder abuse and statistics according to the World Health Organization; * The risk factors and vulnerable groups; * Recognizing elder abuse; and * A summary of the types of elder abuse including financial, neglect, and physical abuse. Members of the Committee asked a number of questions of Ms. Luening and Ms. Proctor and received responses.
