Title: PRESENTATION REGARDING THE BARRIE POLICE SERVICE PROPOSED 2022 BUDGET REQUEST Greg Ferguson, Chair of the Barrie Police Services Board provided an overview on the Barrie Police Service (BPS) 2022 Budget requirements. He advised that the strategic business plan requirements guided by several key factors to fulfill policing responsibilities, public expectations, evidence-based delivery of police services and increasing financial pressures. Mr. Ferguson provided an outline of BPS 2022 Budget presentation to be presented by Chief of Police, Kimberly Greenwood. Greg Ferguson, Chair of the Barrie Police Services Board provided an overview on the Barrie Police Service (BPS) 2022 Budget requirements. He advised that the strategic business plan requirements guided by several key factors to fulfill policing responsibilities, public expectations, evidence-based delivery of police services and increasing financial pressures.

* A systemic review of organizational cultures and systems;
* The budgetary challenges;
* A summary of the information technology enhancements;
* The new initiatives to assist case management, justice modernization, evidence-based policing and body-worn cameras;
* The following action items to implementation City's Community Safety Well-Being (CSWB) Plan;
o Community Safety and Well-Being Officer;
o Community Safety and Well-Being Police Unit;
o Harm-Focused Policing - Strategic Targeted and Researched (STAR); and
o The evolution of an Alternative Response Unit (ARU).
* The multi year staffing plan between 2014 to 2022;
* The 2022 Operating Budget;
* The 2022 Capital Budget;
* The legislative impacts;
* A chart illustrating Barrie Police Service budget versus Barrie's population between 2011 to 2022; and
* A summary of the municipal funding requirement, 2.88% over 2021 Budget.
