Title: DOWNTOWN SNOW REMOVAL RELATED TO ACCESSIBILITY Cheryl Dillon, Diversity Management Specialist advised that she has received accessibility concerns from residents related to snow removal in the downtown core including sidewalks. Craig Morton, Manager of Roads, Stormwater and Rail Operations described the City's current process related to snow removal in the Downtown Business Improvement Association (BIA) and the responsibilities for property and business owners for sidewalk snow clearing. He advised that City Council recently approved funding for a pilot project for the 2022/2023 winter season to begin sidewalk snow clearing in the downtown core. Mr. Morton explained that the objective of the pilot project is to assist the downtown merchants with removing the bulk of the snow from the sidewalks but that the property owners still need to comply with the City of Barrie's Snow Clearing By-law 2008-212 for maintenance of sidewalks in front of their businesses. Bryan Keene, Acting Supervisor of Enforcement Services provided an overview of the City of Barrie’s Snow Clearing By-law 2008-212.  He described the geographic boundaries of the Downtown Business Improvement Association.
