Title: DEVELOPMENT APPLICATIONS UNDER REVIEW Tomasz Wierzba, Planner discussed with the Committee the development application for 19 Dundonald Street at the request of City staff. Cathy Colebatch discussed concerns related to the heritage character evaluation, lack of detail on the house history and property, the impacts to the property downhill from 19 Dundonald Street and the erosion, drainage, tree canopy and removal. The Committee provided comments on the location of 19 Dundonald Street being in a historical area and suggested that a Heritage Streetscape Study be prepared for the north side of Blake Street and east side of Dundonald Street.

 

The Committee discussed the needs of the municipality and the benefits of a designated Heritage Planner on staff at the City to be responsible for heritage conservation, preservation, restoration and promotion for the community. They recommended that a Heritage Planner position be included in the 2023 Budget.
