BUS STOP/ROOFTOP POLLINATOR GARDENS
Jason Zimmerman, Supervisor of Transit Operations and Infrastructure stated that since the pollinator gardens were mentioned at another Committee meeting in 2021, further research was conducted on the bus stop roof top pollinator gardens, and it was concluded that no municipalities in North America were participating in the pollinator gardens because of the climate. Mr. Zimmerman further discussed areas in the United States that were able participate in the pollinator gardens because they do not get the colder temperatures as in North America. He indicated that the manufacturer would not provide a warranty on any of the shelters built due to potentially low survivability in the climate changes in North America. Mr. Zimmerman advised that all new bus shelters that are currently being installed come equipped with solar panels on them.
