Title: DIRECT MOTION - APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL YOUTH CRIME PREVENTION AND WELL-BEING FUNDING Moved by: Deputy Mayor, R. Thomson Seconded by: Councillor, N. Nigussie That should the City's application for federal funding be approved, the General Manager of Community and Corporate Services be authorized to: a) Execute the required Fund Agreement with the Federal government to develop a comprehensive multi-year strategy to address conditions that contribute to a young person falling in with crime, create safe spaces and empower young people and communities to drive solutions that set them up for success; and b) Recruit for temporary positions (Project Manager, Youth Program Coordinator(s) and Recreation Program Leaders) that would be fully funded through the Agreement to develop the strategy and pilot initiatives in 2023 to early 2024.
