TMP-15656 1  Item of DiscussionAGE-FRIENDLY COMMUNITY PLANNING GRANT Celeste Terry, Policy Planner updated the Committee on the status of the Age-Friendly Community Planning Grant project. Ms. Terry noted that the Request for Proposal (RFP) has been finalized and sent out to consultants and interested parties with a deadline of December 14, 2015. The Committee discussed selecting an additional Committee member to assist in the RFP process to obtain a consultant. Cotton, Chair provided a summary of Senior Rentals and Life Lease Non-Governmental Non-Profit housing Providers as of December 14, 2015. He noted that the waiting list for senior housing is continues to increase as seniors are living longer. G. Seis discussed an alternate housing option for seniors in Halton Region called “Halton HomeShare ToolKit”. She advised that the Toolkit empowers home providers and home seekers the ability to live in affordable, shared accommodation inclusive of respect, choice, dignity and it’s a mutual benefit to everyone.Received  Action details Not available

That the Barrie Municipal Non-Profit Housing Corporation be requested to consider construction of non-profit seniors housing in the City of Barrie. 2.
