Amanda Dyke, Cultural Development Officer provided a presentation regarding the City’s 2025-2035 Culture Plan Update.
Ms. Dyke discussed the following:
· The 65 recommendations identified in the Update and how they align with the Plan’s six main priorities;
· Increasing resource capacity within the Small Business Centre;
· The development of an In-Kind Tourism and Culture and Event Grant Program; and
· A review of the Arts and Culture Investment Program to begin in 2026/2027.
Members of Committee asked questions and provided feedback.
Members of Committee discussed altering the committee’s composition to include a member of the Indigenous community as part of Priority #5 within the Culture Plan. The matter will be discussed further at the January 2026 meeting. | Received | |

Amanda Dyke, Cultural Development Officer, discussed the success of the 2025 Barrie Arts Awards. Ms. Dyke welcomed the Committee’s feedback and suggestions for next year’s event.
