Mr. S. Bondy provided an open delegation regarding the drainage around his home. Mr. Bondy indicated that he is addressing the Committee to ask to have the sump pump connected to drain into the storm sewer at 111 Monarchy Street. Mr. Bondy reviewed the steps that he has taken to date to try and rectify the drainage problem, including a completion of a Mike Holmes inspection, hiring a structural engineer, and contacting the builder of his home, Baywood Homes. Mr. Bondy noted that he has not been able to reach Baywood Homes as they are no longer in business. He discussed that many of the homes in the neighbourhood have their sump pumps drain into the sanitary sewer system. He indicated that he feels the adjacent lots to his property drain into his backyard and that he believes the slopes and swales in his backyard are inadequate. He stated that the sump pump drains over the sidewalk and he feels it creates a safety issue. K. Brislin, Senior Policy Planner provided a slide presentation regarding the Allandale Historic Neighbourhood Protection of Heritage Character.
Ms. Brislin discussed slides concerning the following topics:
· An overview of the actions taken to date;
· An overview of the proposed Official Plan Amendment to define the Historic Neighbourhood Area;
· A map demonstrating the boundaries of the Cumberland Burton Area Characterization;
· A map outlining the RM1 Zoned Areas;
· A map outlining the Shear Park Area Characterization;
· A map outlining the R3 Zoned Areas;
· A map outlining the Blair Park Area Characterization;
· An outline of the proposed Urban Design Guidelines and required setbacks;
· The Proposed Site Plan Control Areas;
· A review of feedback received from public consultations; and
· Next steps.
