| 2 | | | Student/Mayor Item | COMMENTS FROM OUTGOING STUDENT MAYOR:
Emma Vernon of Innisdale Secondary School thanked members of Council for the amazing opportunity as Student Mayor. She commented on what she learned during her time in office, and the insightful conversations by members of Council.
Ms. Vernon discussed the one topic that stood out to her during her term as Student Mayor, was City Council's discussion concerning housing and the housing market crisis in Barrie. She felt that the conversation surrounding this was very insightful and reassured to know that City Council is trying to solve the problem for future generations.
Ms. Vernon especially thanked Mayor Nuttall and all the opportunities he had provided her as Student Mayor, in particular the ability to present an award to the Hind Quarter Meats during their grand opening ceremony.
Mayor Nuttall presented Emma a Certificate commemorating her time as Student Mayor.
