Councillor, C. Riepma, Chair of the Heritage Barrie Committee on behalf of the members of the Heritage Barrie Committee recognized the recipients for the 2022 Heritage Barrie Awards, including three heritage properties and two individuals that demonstrated the value of Barrie’s historical neighbourhoods and its community.
Councillor, C. Riepma, Councillor, J. Harris, and Councillor, C. Nixon presented awards to the recipients and recipients’ families for the following categories:
· Residential Category - 72 Burton Avenue
· Commercial Category - 125-127 Dunlop Street East
· Residential Category - 87 Owen Street
· Individual Category - Christine Manewell
· Individual Category - Al McNair

o Review and assess future expansion opportunities for Sadlon Arena;
o To identify options that serve the City’s interests and in growing sports tourism activity; and
o Review proposed plans for expansion submitted by Barrie Colts.
· The project process and timelines from 2022 to 2023;
· The situational analysis conclusion, including the primarily commercial mandate, the condition of the 27 year old facility, governance of the facility, and any new investment to bring new opportunities;
