Mr. Pigeon commented that an orchestra band from Zweibrücken Germany will be visiting the City of Barrie from October 11, 2016 to October 21, 2016. He noted that the group will be hosted/sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 1626 and the King Edward Choir. Mr. Pigeon noted that the orchestra band from Zweibrücken, Germany will perform at the third annual Knights of Columbus Oktoberfest on October 15, 2016. V. Ms. Hewitt commented that preparations are taking place for a delegation consisting of ten youths from the City of Barrie to visit Murayama, Japan from August 16, 2016 to August 30, 2016. Zweibrücken, Germany J. Babcock provided an update regarding the Global Perspectives Program. Mr. Babcock commented that a youth delegation from the City of Barrie through the Global Perspectives Program will be traveling to Zweibrücken, Germany from May 28, 2016 to June 28, 2016. Mr. Babcock noted that Major A. Battista was an amazing guest speaker at an event held at Innisdale Secondary School and he has received positive feedback. Mr. Sergeant commented that Bunty Brooks from the King Edward Choir recently traveled to the Borough of Harrogate. Mr. Sergeant noted that the King Edward Choir’s dates of visit to the Borough of Harrogate have been scheduled for June 30, 2017 to July 10, 2017. TMP-16370 2  Item of DiscussionJAPAN TWINNING UPDATE D. Morrison provided an update regarding Japan Twinning. Mr. Morrison commented that an official delegation from Murayama, Japan will be arriving in the City of Barrie on July 12, 2016 and will be returning home on July 17, 2016. Mr. Morrison noted that the itinerary is still being finalized and plans are taking place for this delegation to stay with homestay families for three nights. The Committee approved unanimously the expenditures of funds from the International Relations Committee account 01-06-0935-0000-3095 for an amount not to exceed $8,000.00 for the costs associated with hosting the delegation from Murayama, Japan during July, 2016.Received  Action details Not available
