Cheryl Dillon, Accessibility Co-ordinator updated the Committee on the progress of the Request for Proposal (RFP) of the Age-Friendly Community Planning project. Ms. Dillon advised that the draft RFP is now complete and is awaiting final approval from the Planning Services Department. R. Cotton, Chair provided an update concerning Senior Rentals and Life Leases of Non-Governmental Non-Profit Housing Providers for 2015.
Mr. Cotton discussed information on new Senior Housing Rentals that are accepting applications for occupancy and housing for seniors concerning the Barrie Municipal Non Profit Housing Corporation (BMNPHC). He noted that the waitlist for senior housing is continuing to increase and at this time there are no future plans for additional buildings by the County of Simcoe nor the BMNPHC. | Received | |

R. Cotton, Chair and G. Seis, Committee Member provided an update regarding their experience at the 2015 Older Adult Centres’ Association of Ontario (OACAO) Conference.
Mr. Cotton provided an overview of the workshops he attended, which included, Fifty Shades of Aging, the “New” Retirement and Dementia Friendly Communities.
Ms. Seis provided an overview on the workshops she attended, which included, Emotional Intelligence - Expanding Influence, Empowering Older Adults Through Community Partnerships, Saying “No’ and Making Requests without making an Enemy.
