22-A-106 2  Awards and RecognitionRECOGNITION OF THE 2022 SALVATION ARMY CHRISTMAS KETTLE CAMPAIGN Major Bruce Shirran of the Salvation Army, Barrie Bayside Mission thanked members of City Council for the opportunity to address Council concerning the Christmas Kettle Campaign and the services provided by the Salvation Army. Major Shirran acknowledged that in June 2022 the Salvation Army celebrated 132 years of service providing support to the community and the most vulnerable. Major Shirran thanked the residents of the City for their generosity and his appreciation to those who volunteer at the various programs offered by the Salvation Army. He provided details of the Kettle Campaign and the projected fundraising goal of $650,000. Major Shirran noted that the 2021 Kettle Campaign fundraising goal was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic wherein $438,000 had been fundraised. Major Shirran spoke about the personal challenges experienced by those that use the Salvation Army Services and the assistance the Salvation Army provides to families in need that included the Redwood Park Family Transition Project and the RReceived  Action details Not available

22-A-108 2  DeputationDEPUTATION BY ROGER GRAY CONCERNING MOTION 22-G-164, RESPONSE TO MOTION 21-G-248 - EXEMPTION REQUEST TO PERMIT AN INDOOR GUN RANGE - REGULATORY MATTERS BY-LAW 2010-036. Roger Gray provided a deputation concerning motion 22-G-164 in response to motion 21-G-248, exemption request to permit an indoor gun range. Mr. Gray explained that a new location has been located for the indoor gun range at 125 Ferndale Drive (the former location of the ball hockey facility). He advised that the building is zoned commercial, meets the requirements of the intended use and is surrounded by industrial properties. Mr. Gray commented that indoor gun ranges in other municipalities are extremely busy. Mr. Gray clarified that noise from the indoor gun range would be less than noise from a vehicle.
