The Committee agreed that D. Morrison and R. Warman should attend the conference as representatives of the International Relations Committee and that the applicable related expenses for the conference (including registration, travel, accommodation and meals) be funded from the International Relations Committee account to a maximum of $1,500.00 per person for the conference. Mr. Morrison commented that a delegation from Murayama, Japan will be visiting the City of Barrie from July 12, 2016 to July 17, 2016. He noted that the delegates will be staying with host families for two days. Mr. Morrison indicated that he will notify Committee members regarding opportunities to meet the delegation from Japan. Hewitt provided an update regarding Murayama, Japan. Ms. Hewitt commented that a youth delegation from the City of Barrie will be traveling to Murayama, Japan from August 16, 2016 to August 30, 2016. M. Greer and J. Gulley, 2016 Youth Ambassador Leaders commented that the youth delegation is organizing a storybook to be presented as their gift in Murayama, Japan. The Committee discussed purchasing a copy of the story for historical purposes. Zweibrücken, Germany D. Morrison provided an update regarding the Global Perspectives Program. Mr. Morrison commented that a youth delegation from the City of Barrie Global Perspectives Program will be returning home from Zweibrücken, Germany on June 28, 2016 and are having a great time during their stay. Mr. Morrison advised that the selection of youths for the 2017 Global Perspectives Program has taken place. Mr. Pigeon commented that an orchestra band from Zweibrücken, Germany will be visiting the City of Barrie from October 11, 2016 to October 21, 2016. Mr. Pigeon noted that an orchestra band from Zweibrücken, Germany will perform at the third annual Knights of Columbus Oktoberfest on October 15, 2016. He further noted that preparations are taking place for the orchestra band from Zweibrücken, Germany to play a series of concerts at the Army, Navy and Airforce Club.
