K. Warner from Avail Consulting Ltd. provided an outline of the consultation framework for the refresh of Barrie’s Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) Plan.
Ms. Warner discussed the following topics of the consultation framework:
· The specific purpose of the consultation activities:
o Validate the current plan;
o Identify the gaps and emerging needs:
o Streamline and refocus;
o Strengthen the collaboration and ownership; and
o Align with evidence and best practices.
· The purpose of the consultation activities:
o Evolving/shifting community needs;
o Diverse perspectives;
o Informed decision making;
o Building trust and engagement; and
o Adaptability.
· An overview of the consultation process:
o Telephone polling;
o Resident survey;
o 1:1 interview;
o Presentation/Engagement sessions:
o Provider Survey; and
o Provider session.
· The deliverables, including a comprehensive report summarizing the findings;
· The recommendation regarding people with lived/living experience;
