J. Morozuk provided an overview student social isolation at Georgian College during the COVID-19 pandemic. She discussed concerns that new and returning students are missing out on opportunities to make new friends and interact with their peers and community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
B. Muscat, Georgian College advised that during the winter semester that a majority of the college students will continue to learn remotely with a small portion of students learning on-campus dependent of the type of program. He highlighted that the winter semester at Georgian College will commence on January 18, 2021.
Mr. Muscat advised that Georgian College has now been added as a Designated Learning Facility by the Government of Canada which now allows the college to begin accepting International students who are enrolled into their programs during the COVID-19 pandemic. He provided an overview of Georgian College’s COVID-19 protocols and procedures that are in place for when those International students arrive in Barrie.

M. Gallagher, Zoning Enforcement Officer provided an update concerning zoning enforcement in the Georgian College area. He noted there have been numerous complaints received concerning vehicles being parked on front yards in the east end of Barrie.
J. Forgrave, Supervisor of Enforcement Services provided a summary of the complaints received by Enforcement Services during COVID-19 pandemic. Mr. Forgrave advised that overnight parking restrictions will commence on December 1st and run through to March 31st inclusive. He advised that overnight parking is prohibited on all streets between the hours of 12:00 am and 7:00 am, and between 3:00 am and 6:00 am in the Downtown, so as not to impede snow clearing operations. Mr. Forgrave commented that Enforcement Services is now up to their full complement of Property Standards Officers.
J. Sharp, Supervisor of Traffic Operations provided an update on the status on the traffic speed board on Blake Street and potential speed board for Johnson Street.
