J.M. Pigeon provided an update on German Twinning. He commented that a delegation from Zwéibrücken, Germany will be visiting the City of Barrie from August 24, 2015 to September 4, 2015. He noted that the majority of the delegates will be privately billeted with a few delegates staying in hotels at their own expense.
J.M. Pigeon extended an invitation to the Committee to participate on a bus trip to Parry Sound on August 28, 2015 with the delegation from Zwéibrücken, Germany. Mr. Pigeon noted that he will provide the Committee with further details.

The Committee met and discussed the status of the Youth Ambassadors visits as follows:
Zweibrucken, Germany
J. Babcock provided an update regarding the Global Perspectives Program. Mr. Babcock commented that a youth delegation from the City of Barrie through the Global Perspectives Program will be traveling to Zwéibrücken, Germany from May 21, 2015 to June 21, 2015. Mr. Babcock noted that the Global Perspectives students are preparing for their “Global Presents” event being held at Innisdale Secondary School.
Japan Twinning Report
H. Noguchi provided an update regarding Murayama, Japan. Ms. Noguchi commented that she has received confirmation from Murayama, Japan that a youth delegation of six delegates plus two chaperones are planning to visit the City of Barrie from July 27, 2015 to August 8, 2015

B. Sergeant provided an update regarding the Borough of Harrogate, North Yorkshire United Kingdom. He commented that an official delegation of five delegates will be visiting the City of Barrie from June 30th, 2015 to July 7th, 2015. Mr. Sergeant commented that an itinerary has been drafted and that preparations for their visit are on-going.
B. Sergeant explained that the dates for the visit of Jennifer Rushton who is a direct descendent of Sir Robert Barrie and Neil Rushton have been changed to June 29th to July 7th, 2015.
J.M. Pigeon and B. Sergeant commented that they met with Mayor Lehman and discussed the idea of having a portrait commissioned of Sir Robert Barrie and his ship, the HMS Dragon. Mr. Pigeon noted that he has researched and located an artist interested in doing the portrait. J.M Pigeon commented that he is researching the process for receiving public donations for the Sir Robert Barrie portrait.
