Greg Ferguson, Chair and Dawn McAlpine, General Manager of Community and Corporate Services asked the Committee members for their ideas regarding the scope of work for the consultant for the Community Safety Well-Being Plan The Committee members provided suggestions to Ms. McAlpine and Mr. Ferguson including identifying risk factors, prioritizing risk factors and engaging with members of public and community organizations regarding the plan. Ms. McAlpine commented on the procurement for the consultant for the plan. The Committee questioned if using the same consultant from the County of Simcoe would be of benefit to the City.
The Committee members agreed that more engagement needs to take place with community organizations, members of the public and service user groups, either by survey, public poll or town hall. The Committee discussed looking at the top issues from the Community Safety and Well-Being Plans from municipalities in the County of Simcoe to see if they are similar to Barrie
