Noella Robert-Kappel provided an Open Delegation concerning the future of Barrie City Camps at Tyndale Park.
Ms. Robert-Kappel advised that since the City of Barrie began hosting city camps at Tyndale Park that this park has now become a popular location for residents and out of town visitors during the summer months. She discussed her concerns related to overcrowding at the park and how she felt that with summer camps set to resume in 2021 that a decision may need to be made whether priority access should be provided to camps, residents or out of town visitors as this park is unable to accommodate all three of these groups on a daily basis. Ms. Robert-Kappel described how the beach area at Tyndale Park is small and when summer camps are taking place that a portion of the beach is cordoned off limiting access for other beachgoers.
