Mr. Patterson provided a brief overview of the Clean Water Act and the purpose of source water protection planning. He identified the basic framework associated with the Clean Water Act. He provided a map of the Wellhead Protection Areas and Intake Protection Zones within the City of Barrie highlighting areas which may be affected by the Significant Threat Policy associated with the Clean Water Act. Mr. Patterson explained the purpose and responsibilities of a Risk Management Official and Risk Management Inspector appointed under the Clean Water Act.
