TMP-26383 2  Presentation - AC/RCPRESENTATION CONCERNING DRAFT NEW OFFICIAL PLAN AND URBAN DESIGN GUIDELINES T. Wierzba, Planner provided a presentation concerning the draft New Official Plan and City-Wide Urban Design Guidelines Mr. Wierzba discussed slides concerning the following topics: · An overview on developing the new theme based Official Plan (OP) and Urban Design Guidelines; · The approach to the new Official Plan; · Urban Design principles; · A map identifying the heritage elements of the new draft Official Plan; · A summary of the proposed cultural heritage resource policies; · The key policy highlights related to protecting heritage resources; and · The timelines and approval process to moving forward with the Plan. Members of Committee asked a number of questions to the presenter and received responses. The Committee agreed to form a Sub-Committee to further review the content and layout of the Draft New Official Plan. The following Committee members volunteered for this Sub-Committee: Councillor, C. Riepma, C. Colebatch, S. MacKinnon and D. TMP-26385 1  Discussion ItemHERITAGE BARRIE AWARDS The Committee met and discussed the 2020 Heritage Barrie Awards. The Committee and City staff discussed alternative award ideas as well as how the awards could be presented to the recipients during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Committee chose to continue with the framed photographs for the 2020 Heritage Barrie Awards. The Committee agreed to purchase the awards for the winners of the 2020 Heritage Barrie Awards and then will look at presenting these awards to the recipients in January, 2021. The Committee will further discuss at their next meeting. The Committee approved the expenditure of funds from the Heritage Barrie Committee Cost Centre #1025 501000 in an amount not to exceed $2500.00 for expenditures related to the 2020 Heritage Barrie Awards. Replacement Heritage Barrie Award - 134 Blake Street T. Wierzba, Planner provided an update regarding a replacement Heritage Barrie Award for 134 Blake Street. He advised that the recipients had inquired about the potential of receiving a replacement framed photograph as their picture has sustained some damage. Received  Action details Not available
TMP-26386 2  Discussion ItemLIEUTENANT GOVERNOR’S ONTARIO HERITAGE AWARDS Councillor, J. Harris provided an overview of the Lieutenant Governor’s Ontario Heritage Awards. He provided a summary of nomination requirements related to each of the award categories for Youth Achievement; Lifetime Achievement; Community Leadership and the Thomas Symons Award for Commitment to Conservation. Councillor, J. Harris advised that the Lieutenant Governor’s Ontario Heritage Awards would provide a great opportunity to recognize those community members who have made contributions toward heritage in Barrie. The Committee provided their feedback to Councillor, J. Harris and chose to add the Lieutenant Governor’s Ontario Heritage Awards to their 2021 Work Plan.Received  Action details Not available
