| 2 | | | Deputation | DEPUTATION BY CATHY COLEBATCH CONCERNING MOTION 21-G-259, PRIVATE TREE BY-LAW REVIEW
Cathy Colebatch provided a deputation concerning motion 21-G-259, the Private Tree By-law Review. She advised that she felt the Staff Report was not comprehensive and did not contain enough detailed information. Ms. Colebatch noted that she agreed with the costs associated to hiring a consultant to conduct a comprehensive review. Ms. Colebatch questioned whether or not the municipality reviewed implementing a private tree by-law review in the past.
Ms. Colebatch discussed her concerns associated with the potential impacts to the environment, climate change, health and well being of residents and the tree canopy resulting from the significant growth that is anticipated. She suggested that the site plan control process include provisions for the removal of trees and replanting of trees, as well as green space. Ms. Colebatch also suggested that the City should engage the public and provide education on trees. | Received | |
