TMP-28791 1  Discussion ItemBIKE THE NIGHT Councillor, A. Kungl indicated that she has been working with staff on special events permits for the event. She mentioned that the working group had designed a poster for the event and are doing some outreach with staff and other organizations. John Northcote discussed reaching out to the organization that held the Bike the Night Event in Guelph regarding the impending event in Barrie. Mr. Northcote mentioned the differences and similarities between the two events. He shared the draft Bike the Night Event poster and asked the Committee to provide any suggestions on additions, alterations, or deletions. The Committee discussed suggestions, such as a Save the Date pamphlet or poster to have at other events for promotion, partners listed on the poster, a directive on where to find information about the event, sponsorships, prizes, first aid on-site, and event insurance. TMP-28793 1  Discussion ItemCYCLE BARRIE PLAN Brett Gratrix, Transportation Planning Lead indicated that the Public Information Centre (PIC) was held on February 24 and consisted of a lot of discussion and feedback surrounding the desire to improve connectivity on the existing network, aligning road renewal activities with existing cycling facilities, improve safety on the Duckworth Street interchange, a desire for a north and south connection on St. Vincent Street, signal actuation for bicycles, and more bicycle parking. Mr. Gratrix mentioned that he is currently in talks with the City’s Infrastructure Department concerning a design change to a project on Bryne Drive regarding on road to cycle tracks.
