TMP-28437 1  Discussion ItemCOMMUNITY ANTI-RACISM INITIATIVES - CONTINUATION Masa Sone provided an update on what the Anti-Racism Task Force has been working on since the last meeting and where they are headed. Ms. Sone mentioned that the Barrie Public Library is hosting an online series to talk about Black History Month on February 22, 2022, at 7 p.m., and the Task Force will be in attendance. She indicated that since the last meeting, the Task Force has chosen a logo for its website, they hoped to build the branding guidelines for the website at their February 2nd meeting, create campaign initiatives, and continue work on a research project on global health that focuses on the City of Barrie. Judy Morozuk expanded on the Barrie Public Library’s Black History 365 page and a few of the areas of interest, such as Being Black in Canada, Black Local Love, Local History, Wellness and Mental Health. TMP-28438 1  Discussion ItemGEORGIAN COLLEGE UPDATES Todd Zubyck provided that the college had intended to return to on campus activities in January, for the winter semester. Mr. Zubyck indicated that the college parking was currently complimentary. He mentioned that access to the college still required registration and was following all COVID-19 protocols.   Action details Not available
TMP-28439 1  Discussion ItemCITY UPDATES Mike Winn, Staff Sergeant, Barrie Police Services mentioned that a member of the Social Disorder Community Engagement Team had reached out to the College for a meet and greet with international students to provide information about the Barrie Police Services. Mr. Winn provided information on a live stream on February 8, 2022, in the downtown area, to talk about the City of Barrie, the Barrie Police Services and filing a report if needed, as well as how to get involved with the community. Jason Forgrave, Supervisor of Enforcement Services indicated that the City of Barrie Winter Control was in full swing. Mr. Forgrave further discussed parking tickets issued in the north end in comparison to the rest of the City, additional property standards complaints, posting for four additional Municipal Law Enforcement Officers, COVID-19 enforcement complaints, as well as snow clearing complaints.
