Kevin Bradley, Manager of Parks and Forestry provided an update concerning the revitalization to the existing childcare space at the East Bayfield Community Centre Park. He described the location of the park, the plans to incorporate more accessible elements into the park including a wheelchair swing and the tentative timelines for construction. He explained the rationale to having the wheelchair swing installed at the East Bayfield Community Centre Park.
Mr. Bradley provided an update concerning the revitalization of St. Vincent Park and Playground He explained that St. Vincent Park is classified by the City of Barrie as a waterfront park. He described the age and location of the existing park including plans to design a fully accessible park.
Mr. Bradley advised that there will be a public process related to the revitalization of St. Vincent Park which includes an online survey and Public Information Centre scheduled for February 6, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.

| 2 | | | Discussion Item | DOWNTOWN SNOW REMOVAL RELATED TO ACCESSIBILITY
Cheryl Dillon, Diversity Management Specialist advised that she has received accessibility concerns from residents related to snow removal in the downtown core including sidewalks.
Craig Morton, Manager of Roads, Stormwater and Rail Operations described the City’s current process related to snow removal in the Downtown Business Improvement Association (BIA) and the responsibilities for property and business owners for sidewalk snow clearing. He advised that City Council recently approved funding for a pilot project for the 2022/2023 winter season to begin sidewalk snow clearing in the downtown core. Mr. Morton explained that the objective of the pilot project is to assist the downtown merchants with removing the bulk of the snow from the sidewalks but that the property owners still need to comply with the City of Barrie’s Snow Clearing By-law 2008-212 for maintenance of sidewalks in front of their businesses.
