PRESENTATION BY THE BARRIE HISTORICAL ARCHIVE
Dr. Travis Doucette, Chairperson of the Barrie Historical Archive provided a presentation regarding the Barrie Historical Archive Project.
Dr. Doucette discussed slides concerning the following topics:
• A potential partnership with the Heritage Barrie Committee;
• The Vision Statement;
• The Mission Statement;
• Photographs of historical buildings;
• Background information regarding the development of the Barrie Historical Archive;
• An overview of achievement highlights including:
o Documents scanned and archived to date;
o The development of a strong social media presence;
o The official launch;
• An overview of the leadership structure;
• An overview of the partnerships with the City of Barrie, institutions, historical associations, private businesses and local media;
• An overview of the 2016 annual budget; and
• The objectives for June 2016.
In closing, Dr. Doucette requested that the Heritage Barrie Committee consider forming a partnership with the Barrie Historical Archive. Dr. Doucette also asked that the Heritage Barrie Committee consider donating to the start up costs of the Barrie Historical Archive.
Members of the Committee asked a number of questions related to the information provided and received responses from the presenter.
